The bayou city's own Beyonce’ is performing at NRG Stadium but her tour will effect Houston long after her concert comes and goes. Queen Bey's Formation World Tour is teaming up to help "TurnAround Houston".  That's the name of Mayor Sylvester Turner's new program to help Houstonians in need of securing employment.

Beyonce's mom Tina Knowles-Lawson was on hand at Houston City Hall where it was announced the BeyGood Charity Foundation and St. John's Pastor Rudy Rasmus and his EcoLife initiative are joining the TurnAround Houston effort to help secure employment for Houstonians having trouble finding work.

”I'm a United States Air Force veteran. I'm also an ex-offender. I served a lengthy prison sentence for a drug related offense. Several months ago I was released. I lost everything. The mayor's program and his partnering organizations they saved my life,” explains Geoffrey Schardien.

“Let's recognize that by helping one (person), we don't just help that one we help one another. If we do it and we do it right, Houston will be the best place on the face of this Earth,” smiles Houston Mayor Sylvester Turner.

“Houston will always be my family's home and I'm just honored to be here to support this great endeavor,” adds Beyonce’s mom Tina Knowles-Lawson.

The Turnaround Houston initiative to help turn lives around by helping them get jobs is just beginning.  If you are seeking employment there will be a Turnaround Houston event on May 26, 2016 at Denver Harbor Multi-Service Center from 9am -1pm.
