Man shot, killed in pizza parlor parking lot, shooter still at large
HOUSTON (FOX 26) - What started out as a dispute between a group of people turned deadly when shots were fired in broad daylight, right in front of a shopping complex on Westheimer Road, leaving one man dead. The shooter and his companion are still on the loose.
The incident happened just before 1:30 this afternoon. A black male and a female had just finished eating at the Golden Chicken restaurant that was right next door, when they came upon two men in the parking lot in from of Fuzzy's Pizza and Italian Cafe. An argument broke out between the four, and a shoving match ensued, that's when the suspect showed a handgun and shot at the victim, striking him multiple times.
The shooter, who is between 20 and 21 years old and the female who was with him then fled on foot heading west on Westheimer Road, and then turned into a nearby apartment complex.
The victim, was transported to memorial Herman Hospital, and was later pronounced dead.
Detective Robert Klementich of HPD Homicide tells us they are still investigation the motive.
"We're looking at maybe if robbery might have been a motive but at this time we don't have any indication of that right now but we're pursuing that right now," Detective Klementich said.
Besides the male victim there were no other injuries. It is still unknown if the four people knew each other.
If you have any information about the shooter, and the female that was with him, please call Crime Stoppers at 713-222-TIPS.
