Man riding horse dies after being hit by vehicle in east Harris County

Authorities say a man riding a horse has died after being struck by a vehicle in east Harris County.

According to Harris County Sheriff Ed Gonzalez, the horse rider was trying to cross US 90 at Lord Road when he was struck. The horse also died.

The driver remained on the scene. Sheriff Gonzalez says a 2-year-old child in the vehicle has minor injuries from the glass of the vehicle.

US 90 eastbound is closed as deputies investigate.
