Man allegedly stabs ex-wife's new boyfriend to death

A man is dead and another is in jail after a fatal stabbing took place in northwest Houston early Sunday morning.

Harris County Sheriff's Office authorities say Jorge Perez Rios, 47, has been charged with capital murder after allegedly going to his ex-wife's home and stabbing her current boyfriend to death.

"Deputies arrived on scene to observe a male fleeing the residence, a short chase ensued. The male was eventually taken into custody and the investigation has revealed that the male suspect is the ex-husband of the woman that lives here," says Sergeant Dennis Wolfford.

Rios was taken to the hospital after being struck by a taser for precautionary measures.

Sgt. Wolfford says, "apparently the suspect forced entry to the residence he was confronted by the boyfriend of his ex-wife the suspect stabbed the boyfriend during the confrontation and the new boyfriend is deceased at the scene."
