Male dies following midtown Houston stabbing

METRO Police Department has detained a male in the stabbing of two others on Main Street near Gray Street in midtown Houston. One of the stabbing victims has died and the other one is in serious condition.

Someone contacted Houston police at around 11 a.m. Friday and reported the stabbing.

Police spoke to witnesses at the McDonald's property on Main Street, located near the Gulf Freeway overpass where the stabbing apparently took place.

From what investigators have determined, the confrontation started as an argument between two homeless men. One of them took out a knife and attacked the other man. That's when another homeless man came to help the man being stabbed but ended up becoming a victim himself. Both of the men who were stabbed were taken to a hospital where one of them was pronounced dead and the other in serious condition.
