Klein Oak High School substitute terminated after being seen viewing inappropriate material during class

The Klein Independent School District has terminated a substitute teacher following an incident Friday in a classroom. 

According to a release, a substitute at Klein Oak High School was viewing inappropriate material on a personal device during class.

School administrators said students reported it to campus administration, who immediately removed the substitute from the classroom.

The substitute was terminated, and school officials said "will never work in Klein ISD again."

School officials added Klein ISD police still have the former substitute in custody, and the Harris County District Attorney's Office has accepted charges. Klein ISD also said the former substitute will be reported to all appropriate agencies.

The statement added an administrator has already directly contacted the parents of all students present in the classroom when the incident occurred. 

Klein ISD said, "We want to thank the students who reported this incident, as well as the campus administrators and law enforcement for their swift response. Klein ISD remains committed to ensuring the safety and well-being of our students. We encourage anyone with further questions or concerns to contact the Klein Oak High School administration."
