Deadly crash on I-45 North

What we know:

Houston police are working the scene of the crash at Crosstimers Street on Thursday morning.

The Houston Police Department Sgt. Griffiths reports around 3 a.m. several calls came in about a wrong way driver on I-45. It is believed based on the timing of the calls prior to the crash, the female driver in a truck was going the wrong way for about 10 to 15 minutes.

At some point, the wrong-way driver hit a vehicle head on with a male driver inside. The man was pronounced dead at the scene.

This led to two other cars also crashing, said Griffiths. One car hit road debris from the crash and struck an overpass. The other vehicle possibly crashed into the wrong-way driver.

HPD officials say the wrong-way driver could be facing an intoxicated manslaughter charge. She is currently in custody.
