HPD officer dies following medical event at substation
HOUSTON (FOX 26) - A Houston Police Department officer has died following a medical event at a substation Wednesday afternoon.
HPD Chief Charles McClelland announced that 10-year veteran officer Sheldon O'Brien collapsed at the HPD Midwest Patrol Station center at 7277 Regency Square Blvd around 2:00 p.m.
He was transported to Memorial Hermann Southwest, where he the Houston Police Officers' Union announced his passing.
Officer O'Brien was 40 years old and was assigned to the Investigative First Responder Division at the Midwest Patrol Station. He is survived by his parents who live in the Houston area, and his sister that lives in Dallas.
