A 23-year-old man has been charged with the murder in a deadly shooting at a southwest Houston apartment on Wednesday night.

Police said Rafael Nunez Serrano, 22, died after someone entered his apartment and shot him multiple times while he was in the shower. He went out to the parking lot for help.

According to investigators, while Serrano was being taken to the hospital, he told paramedics he had been shot by his "boss". He was taken to the hospital where he was pronounced deceased.

Edwin Figueroa, 23, was detained by officers and interviewed by detectives. Police say Figueroa admitted to shooting Serrano, who he described as a friend he had known for about four years.
