HOUSTON - Thousands of people took to the streets of Houston on Sunday afternoon to show their support for immigration rights.
Houston Immigration Protests
Ervan Chew Park became a stomping ground with many different flags and signs.
Sunday's protest was organized by Immigration Youth Texas and FIEL, an immigrant-led civil rights organization.
Demonstrators tell us they are sending a loud and clear message to President Trump and his administration's stance on immigration policies.
What they're saying:
"We feel like our nation is broke at this moment and this is just a symbol and a voice for ancestors for the people that came before us and the people that are here right now," said Krystal Jasso.
Protester Sergio Carrillo says it was important for him to stand up for his own rights.
"We feel that our family could be broken apart even though we are here legally. They are all US citizens. I am here on a green card," said Carrillo.
