A contract worker with the Houston Independent School District has been arrested for an inappropriate relationship with a student.

That contract employee with the district has been identified as 21-year-old Brando Juarez. He served as a math tutor at Sharpstown High School where investigators say he had a sexual relationship with a 16-year-old female student.

HISD officials say once Juarez, who worked for Yancy Life Center, was made aware of the allegations he resigned. The former school tutor is charged with sexual assault of a child.

Relationship Expert Dr. D. Ivan Young says the district should mentally prepare these young school tutors before releasing them in area classes.

Juarez is the second tutor in a year to be charged with sexual assault at HISD.
