Houston driver shot, crashes into brick wall on Jeanetta Road

Houston police investigate a shooting and crash on Jeanetta Road.
HOUSTON - A man was taken to the hospital in critical condition after he was shot while driving and then crashed into a brick wall in southwest Houston.
Police are still searching for the gunman.

What we know:
Police initially responded to the 3600 block of Jeanetta Drive, near Walter Ramus Park, around 10:30 p.m. Sunday for a report of a crash.
When they arrived, they found that a car had crashed into a brick wall. As officers approached, police say they found evidence of a shooting.
They discovered that the driver had been shot at least once. He was taken to the hospital in critical condition.
According to police, officers learned that the driver had been traveling northbound when someone standing on the side of the road fired multiple shots into the vehicle.
The gunman reportedly took off running into the park. Police say officers found more evidence in the park.

The gunman, described only as a Black male, has not been identified. Police have not provided any further description.
The driver’s identity has also not been released. His current condition is not known.
