Galveston Florist shuts down without paying employees

A Galveston Florist, who employees say owes them money, suddenly shut down her floral business.

The shop is the Tilted Tulip.

Former employees, many hired as delivery drivers say owner Cathy Bombardieri owes them back pay.  In some cases, they claim she owes as much as $1200.  But the employees say she kept giving them excuses.

The Department of Labor confirms it's investigating The Tilted Tulip. Bombardieri even confirmed it, saying she would cooperate and give the DOL the requested papers on Tuesday.

But by Tuesday the place was cleaned out.

The landlord said he had no idea Bombardieri was leaving.  He said she owes him more than $4000 in back rent.
