Former HFD Captain William Dowling has died

HOUSTON (FOX 26) - HFD Captain “Iron Bill” Dowling, who was seriously injured in a deadly 2013 fire, passed away Tuesday.

Captain Dowling lost both of his legs battling the Southwest Inn fire in 2013 that claimed the lives of four other firefighters.

Captain Dowling was a Houston firefighter for more than a decade before he was injured in the fire.
