Flooding concerns along the San Jacinto River
KINGWOOD, TX - Communities along the San Jacinto still recovering from Hurricane Harvey were struck again by flooding concerns after the July 4th Flood yesterday. The San Jacinto River rose rapidly Wednesday after heavy rain soaked the area. A Flood Warning was issued after the river's quick rise for the West Fork near Kingwood overnight.
The water level is at 49" feet, which is above flood stage. The water usually stands at 42", but quickly rose after the heavy rain that pounded the area on Wednesday night. Many of the communities near the West Fork are still struggling to rebuild after being devastated by the flooding during Hurricane Harvey.
