DPS trooper in stable condition after being dragged during traffic stop
Authorities say a DPS trooper is in stable condition after being dragged down I-45 during a traffic stop in Montgomery County.
A trooper pulled a driver over just before 10 p.m. Wednesday. Investigators say the trooper made contact with the driver and the driver sped off, dragging the trooper along for a short distance.
The trooper was taken to the hospital, and a search immediately began for the driver. The suspect was later located and arrested in Shenandoah around 2 a.m.
The trooper is in the hospital with scrapes and a possible knee and back injury.
