Houston weather: Did someone say 'snowball fight' in Houston?
HOUSTON - What's happening in town Tuesday is certainly something we don't often get to see here in Houston.
Houstonians welcome Tuesday snow
So were you out braving the cold or enjoying an actual snow day in Houston?
What we know:
Many Houstonians, big and small, seem to be loving every minute of it. What's the best part of the snow day?
"It's seeing all the kids out having a blast. My kids, Maycee and Hunter, went sledding and made snow angels," says Michelle Valenzuela.

"I'm having fun, watching the children live their life of happiness. I mean it's really good. I like it. I'm out there joining in, throwing snowballs. I mean it's fun," explains Henry Vargas.
So did he win the snowball fight?
"No," Vargas laughs.
Local perspective:
As sleds go where cars normally do, and beyond, this new Houston thing called snow, as it turns out, is pretty cool in a couple of different ways.
Many Houstonians who headed out to enjoy some of the frigid fun were forced to improvise, such as wearing house slippers on their hands as gloves, and bundling up the best way they could.
Vargas, for instance, was wearing no-show ankle socks. So, I had to ask, 'Where are your long socks?'
"I don't know. I just grabbed something and decided to come out and have fun," he laughs.
"I know it's going to be tough to get my little 6-year-old son inside. I don't think he will come in out of the snow. It's hard enough to keep him inside as it is. Now that the snow is here, he's living his best life," Valenzuela smiles.
Even as old man winter swings by for a spell, his not-so-cool counterpart, the sun, is peeking through the clouds, threatening to take the fun away but while the winter wonderland lasts, so does the snow day.
"Oh yeah definitely, hot cocoa and some warm chili. I'm headed inside now for both," says Vargas, and I ask, "What time will the chili be ready? What time should we come back?" and he answers, "About an hour". What we don't know is if we're truly invited. Guess I'll find out in an hour!
