Deputy constable injured after patrol vehicle hit by suspected drunk driver

Authorities say a deputy constable was injured after his patrol vehicle was struck by a suspected drunk driver.

The crash occured on the North Beltway near Veterans Memorial around 1:50 a.m.

The deputy recieved staples for an injury to his head. He has been released from the hosptial.

Harris County Precinct 4 Constable Mark Herman says the District Attorney's Office has accepted 1st degree felony charge of Intoxication Assault on a Police Officer against the driver who crashed into the deputy's patrol vehicle.
