Deadly two-alarm fire at southeast Houston apartment complex

HOUSTON (FOX 26) - HPD identified the man who died in a two-alarm apartment complex fire in southeast Houston on Wednesday afternoon as 17-year-old Lam Nguyen.

Firefighters arrived to find heavy flames and smoke coming from a building at the Thai Xuan Village apartment complex at 8200 Broadway around 3:11 p.m. Wednesday following an initial report that someone was trapped. They later found the male's body inside that building.

Two firefighters were taken to a nearby hospital after suffering minor injuries.

The Fire was extinguished around 4:50 p.m.

The Houston Fire Department Arson Bureau will conduct an investigation into the fire.
