Evacuation orders are in place in some parts of Fort Bend County as emergency officials turn their attention to the southeastern portion of the county.

The Office of Emergency Management is now saying there could be some significant flooding in areas like Missouri City and Thompsons. That's because of the Brazos River which was at 54 feet Thursday afternoon.

That is well beyond flood stage.

The river has already left some neighborhoods in Richmond and Rosenberg underwater.

Those who live close by say while they're under an evacuation order, they're just taking the wait-and-see approach.

Two shelters have been set up for residents in Fort Bend County. One is at a church in Richmond the other is in Brookshire.
