Car plows through front of Houston home
HOUSTON (FOX 26) - “When I woke up I thought maybe lightning had hit the house. And I thought it was pouring rain outside because I heard water and I thought it sounds like it’s in the house,” says Shirley Hornsby who has lived in her southwest Houston home for 30 years.
Hornsby’s sister JoAnn got up to see what happened. Hornsby says, “so she came in here and said 'oh my God another trucks in the house.'”
Police say the driver of a maroon truck crashed through the front porch and into the front of the house. However, this isn’t the first time it’s happened. Hornsby says on six different occasions she's seen cars drive into her property, into the front of her home, into her gate and into the neighbor's house.
Now she’s left picking up the pieces again, just three years after the last time a car was inside her living room. At least, she has a sense of humor about it. “They always loose their license plates in my yard,” says Hornsby.
The driver of the truck was injured and transported to the hospital, but no word on the extent of the injuries. Police say he was also under the influence.
