Boy hurt after finding weapon near southwest Houston convenience store

HOUSTON (FOX 26) - A preliminary police investigation has determined what was initially reported as a shooting is now being referred to as an accident. Police say a boy found a weapon and it accidentally discharged near a convenience store in southwest Houston.
The weapon was discharged on West Airport Boulevard near Taintor Street.
The child suffered a leg injury and was taken to Memorial Hermann Hospital.
