Bayou City Buzz - Inside Grand Texas

For months, Houstonians have been eagerly awaiting the grand opening of Grand Texas.

Located nine miles from George Bush Intercontinental Airport, Grand Texas boasts more than 600 acres of fun. When construction is complete, attractions will include the Gator Bayou Adventure Park, Big Rivers Waterpark, an outlet mall, a sports plex and more.

If you have a need for speed, the SpeedSportz Racing Park is already open.

Want to spend the night? You can bring your RV down to the Grand Texas RV Resort.

Grand Texas will have more than 12 acres of parking.

The big question everyone wants to know is when Grand Texas will be opening. Construction had been delayed because of weather.

"We're hoping by the end of the month. We can't give a defined date because of the weather and vendor shortages and things of that nature," says Monty Galland with Grand Texas. "Really, if people can check in on the website and check in on Facebook, that's really the best way to make sure they've got up to date information."

Grand Texas is selling annual passes which are good for 365 days from the date the pass is activated.
