Harris County Sheriff’s investigators say they have arrested a man for the murder of a north Houston woman who went missing last Friday.

Jeffery Andre McDonald, 46, has been charged with the murder of Rebecca Suhrheinrich.

Suhrheinrich, 58, was reported missing after she didn't show up to work Friday. Deputies were called to her apartment on Dominion Park Drive after she was a no-show again at work Monday.

“We found evidence of blood and some disarray, so obviously we already suspected foul play,” said Gonzalez.

Neighbors watched as investigators spent hours bagging up evidence at Rebecca’s apartment Monday.

Brown says the last time he saw Rebecca Suhrheinrich was Thursday at the apartment complex pool.

Deputies found a woman’s body under the West Hardy Road overpass earlier this week while following leads in the search for Suhrheinrich. Investigators say the woman’s body had obvious signs of trauma.

“If this is indeed her, then the person was obviously murdered, and so we’ll need to get it solved,” said Gonzalez.

The Harris County Medical Examiner’s Office is working to confirm the identity of the body at Greens Bayou. They plan to conduct an autopsy Wednesday.
