Arrest in death of girl struck by vehicle

Police in League City have charged someone in the death of an eight-year-old girl who died after she was struck by a vehicle on April 6.

League City police arrested Erika Diebel, 41, in the death of Kelsey Nalepa. Diebel is charged with intoxication manslaughter with vehicle, a second-degree felony offense. Investigators determined there was probable cause to believe that Diebel was intoxicated when the vehicle accident was reported.

Bond was set at $100,000 for Diebel.

Nalepa was a student at Ross Elementary School in League City. Family and friends attended a candlelight memorial for Nalepa outside the campus a few days after she died.
