Armed robbers caught by tracking device after Whataburger robbery on FM-1960
HOUSTON, TX - Police say that two men are now behind bars after robbing a Whataburger and holding the employees at gun point. The two armed men tried to demand cash at a Whataburger restaurant located on FM 1960 and Beaver Springs in North Houston right after midnight last night.
Investigators say the men took cash containing a tracking device from the Whataburger at FM 1960 and Beaver Springs Drive. Harris county deputies then were able to track that device down and searched the area with a k-9 unit and a helicopter.
They found both robbers, recovered the stolen money, and say a K-9 officers actually bit one of the suspects. No customers or store employees were hurt.
