HOUSTON (FOX 26) - The 30th annual Freedom Over Texas event was a success with a great turn out of over 50,000 people. And it wasn't just people from our area who came to celebrate the birth of our nation. Many we spoke with were first timers coming from as far away as Alaska and Idaho!
Heat was an issue at the event, we saw several people who needed medical attention due to heat exhaustion. But for the most part people where doing their best to stay cool and hydrated.
There was plenty of fun for everyone at the event. There were 5 stages with live performances. People were eager to see Grammy nominated and CMA winner Hunter Hayes and multi-platinum selling group DNCE. For the first time ever, the United States Air Force Band of the West performed a patriotic tribute.
