2 robbery suspects dead, 2 arrested after shooting involving troopers in Katy

Two suspects are dead and two others were arrested after a shooting involving DPS troopers in Katy.

One suspect was shot and killed, a second suspect was wounded and taken to a hospital where he was pronounced dead, and two other suspects were arrested after gunshots were fired toward law enforcement officers, according to the Harris County Sheriff's Office.

The shooting was reported on Westheimer Road near South Mason Road in west Harris County. Texas Department of Public Safety troopers and deputies were conducting an investigation into possible robbery crews.

No troopers or deputies were injured by gunfire but one trooper suffered a minor injury as a result of shattered glass. Only troopers fired gunshots toward the suspects.

Sheriff Ed Gonzalez says the robbery crew was suspected in as many as thirteen cases.
