2 people in custody after SWAT confrontation near Magnolia ISD campuses
MAGNOLIA, Texas (FOX 26) - Bear Branch Elementary, Bear Branch Junior High, Bear Branch 6th grade and Ellisor Elementary schools in the Magnolia Independent School District were locked down as a precaution as Montgomery County Sheriff's Office deputies sought a man who evaded them. The lockdown has since been lifted at the four campuses. Deputies have detained Robert Harris Hamilton, 34, and 27-year-old Bonnie Lee Navarro.
Members of the MCSO SWAT team tried to stop someone they believed was a wanted felon at around 11:30 a.m. Wednesday. The driver of the silver Jeep Liberty refused to stop the vehicle, leading deputies on a chase.
Hamilton and Navarro entered the home on Westwood Square East near FM 1488. The SWAT team took Navarro into custody and confirmed that Hamilton was inside the home. The team forced its way into the home and took Hamilton into custody. Charges are pending against Hamilton and Navarro.
