12-year-old involved in high speed chase to remain behind bars

HOUSTON (FOX 26) - A young girl accused of leading police on a high speed chase in Montgomery County two weeks ago won't be getting out soon.

A Montgomery County Juvenile Judge says he's not willing to release the 12-year-old from detention just yet. 

The juvenile led law enforcement officers on a high speed chase through Montgomery County with speeds exceeding 100 miles per hour. 

The court-ordered drug tests for the child's mother, and grandmother revealed one person testing positive, but the attorneys involved would not say.

Chris Allen, the attorney for the juvenile, says her uncle is willing to take custody of her but his home must be evaluated as well.
