Election Day to start soggy on Tuesday morning | FOX 26 Weather Forecast
Multiple hazards are being monitored for SE Texas as we are less than 24 hours away from Election Day. Coastal Flood Advisory and a high risk for rip currents continues for our coastal communities due to windy conditions through early Tuesday. It will be windy through tonight with scattered showers & possibly a storm or two. However, a big line of storms is expected to roll through early Tuesday on Election Day from around 3AM until 9AM. There's a low risk for a few severe storms with the main threat a few damaging wind gusts and large hail. Heavy rain will also be a risk that could lead to a few flooded streets. Most active weather will be during the morning with cooler temperatures and spotty showers by the afternoon and evening. A few showers may linger for the rest of the week as temperatures warm back into the 80s. In the Caribbean, Tropical Storm Rafael has formed and is forecast to become a hurricane by Wednesday. It will move over parts of Jamaica & Cuba before tracking into the eastern Gulf of Mexico later this week. Right now, most models weaken Rafael as it nears the Gulf coast and keeps it east of Texas.
