Our weather will be sunny, hot and dry today with a slim rain chance near the coast. The rest of the week will feature normal August warmth with highs in the mid 90s. Action is heating up on the tropics with two tropical waves. A wave in the Caribbean could bring us some rain early next week and a second, larger one in the Atlantic will likely become a tropical depression or storm today.

The slightly drier air will be replaced by our more normal humidity. High temps will remain hot all week and there won?t be much rain to help cool us down. The tropics are growing more active, but I still don?t see anything pointed at SE Texas. We will keep monitoring.

Some areas actually made it down to the upper 60s this morning, but don?t get used to that. We?re still in the middle of summer and it highs could reach the upper 90s today with a slight chance for a late day storm. The rest of the week looks seasonable with lows in the mid 70s and highs in the mid 90s.

It will be slightly drier for a day or so and we will feel it mostly in the morning. The afternoon will be hot again on Tuesday, but maybe a couple of degrees cooler for the rest of the week. The tropics are getting active in the Atlantic, but currently, nothing is pointed directly at Texas.

A summer-style front moved through overnight and brought more than 2? of rain north of Houston. Now, our pattern has changed a bit compared to last week. Slight less humidity will be in place, but don?t expect cool air. Afternoon will remain hot, in the mid to upper 90s, but overnight lows should drop to the low and mid 70s rather than upper 70s. Rain chances each day are around 20%.

Our hot weather pattern is finally beginning to change some as a weak cold front will be moving through the area. On Sunday, temperatures will soar into the upper 90s and low 100s with another heat advisory until 7PM. We might see some showers and storms as early as this evening with the front gradually bringing a reprieve to our hot weather as we kick off the work week.

More heat for the weekend with a heat advisory in effect through at least 7PM Saturday. Expect hot weather on Sunday as well, but slightly higher rain chances so hopefully that will keep things a bit cooler. A weak cold front will move through the region on Monday and we will likely see a slight reprieve to this heat, with lower humidity levels. It's not going to be a strong, Fall-like front, but a slight change that we can look forward to.
