The rest of the week keeps afternoon highs in the mid-90s and 30-40 percent chances for rain. The National Hurricane Center is monitoring 2 Tropical Waves out in the Atlantic but nothing is expected in the Gulf of Mexico for a while.

Look for scattered showers Friday afternoon across the Houston area. The temperatures should creep back into the lower 90s as we are setting up for a hot and humid weekend. Rain chances drop a bit for Saturday and Sunday but we can't rule out an isolated storm popping up in the afternoon. Temperatures should be close to the seasonal averages for most of the week again. So, more "August" weather is on the way!
