Lots of heat and humidity waiting for you this weekend in Houston. We can't rule out an isolated shower on Saturday but looking dry for most of the area. Expect the heat index values to run 105-108 in the peak heating of the day. Take steps to be safe in the heat if you are outdoors. The Tropics are active but nothing impacting Texas for now.

Humidity is pretty crazy today, so expect a very muggy afternoon with a heat index near 105. There will be a few storms as well, but with lower chances west of Houston. High pressure is likely to build over the area beginning tomorrow, so hot weather is coming our way for this weekend.

Tropical Storm #Grace is still on track to sweep across the far southern Gulf and will likely become a hurricane. The only impacts on SE Texas will be possible rip currents and somewhat elevated swells along the coast later in the week.

Tropical Storm Henri has formed over by Bermuda in the Atlantic. Winds are at 40mph and the storm is expected to swing around Bermuda over the next several days. This looks to be an ocean storm and not impact the U.S. coastline.

Haiti braces for Grace, Florida for Fred as third system forms

As Tropical Storm Fred approaches Florida, Tropical Depression Grace is moving west and Tropical Depression Eight has formed in the Atlantic.

Following Sunday's heavy downpours, it looks like conditions are pretty similar for much of this week. Slow-moving storms could drop a quick 2" or more in spots. Otherwise, away from storms, look for warm, humid air. Tropical Storm Fred will make landfall in the Florida Panhandle tonight with no effect on Texas. Tropical Depression Grace could bring heavy rain to Haiti today and in the long run could make it into the southern Gulf by late this week. So far, the forecast is uncertain, but it doesn't look like a huge concern. Stay tuned for any changes.

There will be a little better chance for mainly daytime showers or storms through Wed. The end of the week looks a little drier, but we will watch if what will likely become Grace will have any impact on SE Texas. It's too early to know yet, but we will watch it closely.

We can expect scattered showers and storms over the weekend, which is what we have been seeing over the past week or so. Temps will cool a few degrees, but it will still be hot and humid. It's a typical forecast for the middle of August.
