Chance of tropical development in Gulf increases

The National Hurricane Center has increased the chances of development for a tropical wave – labeled Invest 98L – in the Gulf. While it is expected to have a minimal impact on the Houston area, it could help increase our rain chances.

Houston weather: Hot Thursday; tropical moisture moves into Gulf

Thursday in Houston will be hot again, but a plume of tropical moisture will bring scattered showers and thunderstorms beginning late Thursday along the coast and to our east. That rain will spread farther inland on Friday, making it into the Houston area.
