Motiejunas talking with Rockets and other teams

Forward Donatas Motiejunas would be happy to return to the Houston Rockets, but he said other teams are talking with his agent.

Motiejunas is a restricted free agent and the Rockets retain the right to match any offer he gets, but he points out he could still wind up elsewhere.

"Yeah of course," Motiejunas said in an interview with FOX 26 Sports from Lithuania. "There are a couple of teams that still have a lot of interest in me.

"I'm not necessarily back. There are teams that also have a chance to offer (a contract). You never know what's going to happen, but if it ends up I'm coming back, I'm really happy.

"I spent four beautiful years with the Rockets, and I'll be happy to wear the red color another three-four (years), whatever it's going to be."

Motiejunas said his agent is in communication with the Rockets.

"I talked to my agent today, in the morning, and he told me that he's been talking with the Rockets the last couple of days," Motiejunas said. I'm pretty confident everything is going to turn out for the best.

"Both sides are talking and trying to get an agreement. We're working on it, and I think it's a matter of time when everything is going to clear up."

Meanwhile, Motiejunas is disappointed that he had no choice but to turn down an opportunity to play for his national team in the Olympics.

"I couldn't go because the team just left today to Spain to play some friendly games," Motiejunas said. "The Federation asked me to tell them if I'm in or not, and I told them without a contract I cannot really go because of insurance problems. I didn't want to risk (injury) in that situation.

Motiejunas said he is not having any issues with his back, which limited him to 37 games last season.

"It's all good," Motiejunas said. "I'm working out. I have no problems. I'm just sitting and waiting at this point."
