Possible road rage leads to shooting, crash with 1 dead, 3 injured police say

Houston Police believe a road rage incident early Sunday morning is what led to two people being shot, and two others injured in the Mid West area of Houston.

What we know:

Police were called to the 8600 block of Westheimer Road around 1:30 a.m. after a report of a shooting.

When they arrived, they found one male victim dead at the scene.

Police believe another person involved sped away from the scene recklessly and was involved in a crash with two other vehicles about a block away.

During the investigation of the crash, they found the person who left the shooting was also shot.

The drivers of the two vehicles were taken to the hospital for minor injuries.

The driver who caused the crash was also taken to the hospital for a gunshot wound and injuries from the crash.

What we don't know:

Police say it is possible the male who drove away from the shooting and crashed into other vehicles could also be a victim in this situation.

It is not known if the person who was fatally shot was in a different vehicle or found on the roadway.

The homicide division is investigating and trying to find out what happened.

The names and ages of the people who were shot have not been released.
