Police: Man tried to kill woman three times before shooting himself

HOUSTON (FOX 26) - Houston police say a man tried to kill a woman he was in a relationship with three times before he killed himself Sunday morning.

Police say the couple got into an argument Saturday and he stabbed her. According to investigators, the man and woman made up and he decided to drive her to the hospital when they got into another argument. Police say he then tried to kill both of them by ramming the car into a barrier at the Ella exit of I-610.

Police say she managed to get out of the car, but he shot at her, striking her in the arm. The woman was picked up by someone on the feeder and taken to the hospital. The suspect followed them and shot himself in the parking lot, police say.

The woman was taken into surgery and her condition is unknown at this time.
