New Caney High School student laid to rest after he was hit and killed last weekend

PORTER, Texas (FOX 26) - Family and friends laying a New Caney High School student to rest today.

Joshua Givens, 17, was killed in a hit-and-run accident as he was walking home from a Quincenera Saturday night.

Hundreds of mourners filling grand parkway church in Porter, many wearing bright colors to celebrate the football star and aspiring accountant's life.

Friends say Joshua was a bright and happy spirit.
