Man shot at Pasadena Memorial High School during band competition
PASADENA, Texas - Pasadena police said one person was shot and another is in custody after a shooting at Pasadena Memorial High School Saturday.
What we know:
Pasadena police were called about a shooter at the high school just after 6 p.m. Saturday.
Pasadena ISD officials said a man in his 80s with a gun entered the school between 5-6 p.m. Saturday and fired two shots. One hit a door and another struck the victim.
The 26-year-old victim was shot in the shoulder and taken to an area hospital, the district said.

An off-duty Houston Police officer tackled the man with the gun and, with the help of others, was able to wrestle the gun away from the man until police arrived.
Angleton ISD said the victim was a percussion technical consultant for Angleton High School.
He is said to be stable at the hospital.
Angleton ISD said 43 students, two band directors and the consultant were leaving the competition at Pasadena Memorial when the consultant was shot.
The district said all 43 students were unharmed and put on the bus and brought back to Angleton safely.
What we don't know:
Police are investigating why the man was at the school.
His name and any charges have not been released at this time.
What they're saying:
"Our thoughts and prayers are with all involved. I am so proud of our staff members, police from our district and city, and community members who made sure there was no further harm that could have taken place," district spokesperson Art Del Barrio said.
"While we do not yet know the motive for the shooting, we are confident that the actions of the bystanders will prove to be heroic," wrote the Pasadena police department in a statement.
What's next:
Pasadena ISD said crisis counselors would be at the school on Monday for students and staff and at other campuses that might have been impacted.
Angelton ISD said they would also have counselors on campuses Monday morning for students affected.
The district is bringing in extra security next week to increase security at their schools.
