Man shot in neck near Upper Kirby's Greenway Plaza

A man is recovering after he survived a mysterious drive-by shooting last night.  The man was driving his black Mercedes Benz when he was shot in the neck, authorities say.  He was driving along Timmons and the Southwest Freeway near Greenway Plaza at around 11 pm when he noticed two motorcycles veer near him.  One of the riders pulled out a gun and shot through his car's back window. The motorcyclists took off and got away.

He called 911 and was rushed to the hospital in serious but stable condition. The motive of the shooting is not known at this point.  Authorities say there is a possibility that it may have been road rage, but HPD is still investigating this case.
