Man sets ex-lover's house on fire; 2 hospitalized
HOUSTON (FOX 26) - Houston firefighters were on the scene of a heavy house fire that was allegedly started by an upset ex.
It happened in east Houston on Bringhurst near Martha just after 1 a.m. Thursday morning.
According to the homeowner, he was at home with a guy he has been seeing, when his ex called.
He asked if he could come over because he was having a mental breakdown.
The homeowner agreed to allow him over, but it soon turned into drama.
The ex-lover allegedly got a gas can and poured out gas in the bathroom.
That's when we're told he lit it on fire, causing the house to quickly catch fire.
Both the ex-lover and the homeowner were able to get out of the house.
Two dogs that were in the home also managed to escape.
Firefighters were able to make a quick entry and rescued the homeowner's new lover.
He was transported by paramedics to Memorial Hermann.
