Man poses during arrest for compelling prostitution charge
Deputy constables have taken a man into custody and rescued a teen who was allegedly coerced into working for him as a prostitute.
Steven Alanzo Greer, 25, was arrested and charged with compelling prostitution and promotion of prostitution of a juvenile.
Investigators say Greer met the teen girl through a mutual friend when she was 13 years old. She began working for him starting in early 2019 and spoke with authorities after being arrested.
The girl, who just turned 16 years old in April, told investigators that Greer threatened her with violence to control her. She was required to have sex with several men every day in exchange for money over the course of two weeks.
The information the teen provided to investigators has led to additional cases where juveniles may also be the victims of sex trafficking.
“It took a lot of courage for this young person to come forward and ask us for help," said Harris County Precinct 1 Constable Alan Rosen. "We want her and other victims of sex trafficking to know that they are not alone and that we will continue to work tirelessly to see that pimps like this will be punished for their actions.”
Greer was found with 9.9 ounces what investigators believe is THC “wax” and may face additional charges as a result.
The Galveston County Precinct One Constable’s Office assisted in the execution of the felony warrant against Greer in Texas City.
