LA school shooting was an accident, police say
Los Angeles police are now saying a middle school shooting in California was an accident. Police arrested a 12-year-old girl. A classmate says she was sobbing and kept saying "I didn't mean it," that the gun was in her backpack and accidentally went off when she dropped the bag. A 15-year-old boy was shot in the head and a 15-year-old girl was shot in the wrist.
Female shooters are rare. Last female school shooter was in 2008. A 23-year-old killed two people at Louisiana Technical College, then killed herself.
But how did this accidental shooting injure two people? And how could dropping a backpack set a gun off? Jake Hicks, an Army veteran who owns Audemus, a private investigation and security service company, is on the Factor to weigh in.
