Human remains found wrapped in blankets in La Porte

LA PORTE, Texas (FOX 26) - Human remains have been found wrapped in blankets and a tarp in La Porte.

La Porte police received the call around 8 a.m. Wednesday morning at a golf course, where the remains were discovered. Investigators are working on two active scenes at this time, one being a mini storage and the other at the golf course.

La Porte police say the body was actually held in a storage unit before being moved to the golf course. Police know who owned the unit, but are not releasing that information at this time.

The remains appear to be that of an adult, according to police. Police say the body was so badly decomposed it couldn't be identified and the gender has yet to be determined. The Harris County Medical Examiner's Office has the remains to determine the cause of death.
