Man wanted for girlfriend's shooting death in Eastex-Jensen area

HOUSTON - A wanted man is accused of shooting and killing his girlfriend in the Eastex-Jensen area Sunday night.

What we know:

Houston Police say 48-year-old Eric Eugene Goosby has been charged with murder and unlawful possession of a firearm by a felon.

Goosby is suspected to have shot his girlfriend after she was found by first responders in an apartment on Laura Koppe Road. Officials say she was found unresponsive at about 2 p.m. Monday and pronounced deceased at the scene.

According to police, neighbors claimed to hear gunshots at about 9 p.m. Sunday night. They then saw Goosby leave the apartment alone.

What we don't know:

The victim has not been identified. Police only described her as a 50-year-old woman.
