Houston robbery: Teen employee shot; new video of wanted suspects

An 18-year-old employee was shot 11 times during a Houston cell phone store robbery, police say.

Authorities released video of two suspects and are asking for the public's help to identify them.

The backstory:

The incident occurred around 5:05 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 26, at a cell phone store on Cullen Blvd. at Sunflower Street.

Police say two employees were in the store when two suspects, one of them armed with a pistol, entered the store and demanded cash and cell phones.

According to police, one of the suspects – seen on video in a yellow jacket – fired multiple shots at the 18-year-old employee during the robbery. He was not struck by the gunfire until he ran out the front door, police say.

According to police, the suspect in the yellow jacket chased after him and fired several shots, shooting the teen 11 times.

 Paramedics transported the teen to the hospital. Police say he is improving but still cannot talk.

The other employee was not injured.

What we know:

The suspects fled the scene, running into the surrounding neighborhood. Police say they got away with cash and some other items.

The suspects are described as two young Black males – one wearing a black, hooded jacket and the other a yellow, hooded jacket.

What we don't know:

The suspects have not been identified. Police are unsure of their ages but believe they could be 17 to 21 years old.
