Houston police investigate smash and grab at shoe store

Houston police responded to a report that a truck drove into the WSS shoe store near Gessner and the Southwest Freeway early Wednesday morning.

Police say the stolen white Ford F250 was used to break through the front entrance. No word yet on exactly how many items the robbers got away with, but they appeared to have hit a Nike display.

Lt. Larry Crowson with the Houston Police Department says, "When they arrived they found a stolen truck had been used to drive into the front of the store looks like several people got out. They grabbed several grocery sacks or garbage bags full of shoes and then fled in the truck, right now we are waiting on the management to get here. Looks like there is video surveillance".

Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 713-222-TIPS.
