Houston Police are searching for at least one gunman in a shooting at Houston Garden Park which left four people in the hospital Friday night.

Investigators were active overnight looking for clues in the north end of the park, not far from the park playground.

Initial reports to FOX26 suggested the incident may have been a robbery, which ended in gunfire.

Official police reports say four individuals suffered gunshot wounds. Two individuals are listed as in critical condition.

"I was told that I wasn't able to go in and visit him," said Hope Jimenez, a neighbor and friend of one victim who stopped by to see him at the hospital, "but the God that I served allowed me to go into the unit and actually got a down on my knees with my neighbor, and we prayed for him."

Gazing into the park field beneath a furrowed brow, Melvin Brown Mohammed expressed concern for a generation he feels is getting lost in a lifestyle of destruction. He says things have changed since he lived in the area years ago.

"My nephew is clinging to his life right now by being in this park," said Mohammed. "The same park that brings so much joy to so many people. How can you take it and turn it into a death sentence?"

No arrests have been made yet. Police say they are looking for a black male in his mid twenties. Anyone with information on this case is asked to call police.
