Downtown Houston scaffolding collapse: 1 injured at Rusk, Main

A worker was taken to the hospital after a scaffolding collapsed in Downtown Houston on Tuesday afternoon.

What we know:

According to the Houston Fire Department, the incident occurred around 12:19 p.m. at Main Street and Rusk Street.

Officials say a scaffolding collapsed while people were working on the building. The fire department says concrete came out of one of the windows and fell on a construction elevator.

A worker in the construction elevator was able to get out on his own and was taken to the hospital, officials say. He was reported to be in stable condition.

The fire department was initially notified that some people could possibly be trapped in the debris, but they say they conducted a search and accounted for everyone.

What we don't know:

The identity of the person who was injured has not been released.

What's next:

OSHA will conduct their own investigation.

The debris is being cleared at the scene.
